When the Plug and Coupler are connected, the lock rings fit over each other and twist-lock to hold them securely together.
Both connectors have a 'Pilot Pin' which is a safety pin designed to connect last and disconnect first to ensure the main pins are not electrically live until they are completely shrouded.
